60th Wedding Anniversary

Bennie and Barb Davidson of Assumption celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Apr. 19.

Mr. Davidson is retired from Caterpillar and is formerly from the Bingham/Ramsey area.  Mrs. Davidson was raised in Pana and worked at Mallory’s in Pana and the Assumption grade school food service department.

They have four sons, Michael Davidson, Moweaqua, Jerry (Karen) Davidson, Pana, Jim (Diane) Davidson, Oconee and Bill (Karen) Davidson, Bristol, Tenn. and four granddaughters, a grandson, and two great granddaughters.

The family is hosting an open house from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 10, in the Assumption Parish Hall. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Temmen, 2 Laurel Lane, Taylorville, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, Apr. 12, in the Pana Knights of Columbus Hall.

Mr. Temmen and the former Judith Ann Kresevich were married Feb. 27, 1965 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oconee. Attendants were Suzanne Duchaney Ausmus, Jan Challans McMillen, Lyle Temmen Sr., and Patrick Holthaus.

Their parents are John and Leona Rochard Kresevich and Frank and Celestine Sommer Temmen.

Lloyd is retired from International Paper. He enjoys farming, gardening and Corvettes. Judith is retired from Temmen Advanced Eye Care. She enjoys antiques and collecting Royal China dinnerware. They both like spending time with their family.

Their children are Jonna Temmen of Springfield and Dr. Camda (Kevin) Temmen Hughey of Mt. Zion. They have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Kenneth and Carolyn Smart of Herrick, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Mar. 7.

Mr. Smart is retired from Caterpillar and Mrs. Smart works part-time as a beautician.

They have one daughter, Shelly (Dennis) Nohren of Herrick; one grandson, Doug (Brooke) Nohren and three great-grandchildren, Shae, Lainey and Stran Nohren.

A celebration will be held in their honor from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, Mar.  7 at the Herrick Community Center. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.

64th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Boltz, 206 Hayes Ave., Pana, will be celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

An open house is planned from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Pana Senior Center, 188 US Hwy. 51.

Mr. Boltz and the former LaVonne Sinclair were married Dec. 23, 1950 at the bride’s parent’s home in Hoopeston.

Parents of the couple are the late Guy and Marie Sinclair and the late Albert and Inez Boltz.

Richard is retired from Ameren and LaVonne is a housewife.

Their children are Cathy Allsop of Monticello, Rick Boltz, Shelbyville, Greg Boltz, Tower Hill, Shelly Reatherford, Pana and Tim Boltz, Springfield. They have 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dave Smith and the former Judy Martz were married Oct. 31, 1964 in the home of the late Walter and Dorothy Smith.

A 50th wedding celebration will be held at a later date with family and friends.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. James J. Nance, 2199 N 1700 St., Herrick, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Mr. Nance, son of James L. and Billie Nance and the former Joyce Brown, daughter of Clarence and Viola Brown, were married Oct. 18, 1964 at the Christian Church in Herrick. Attendants were the bride’s sisters, Betty Smith and Dorothy Smart, and John Kalauitis.

James served four years in the US Air Force and was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Co. He is involved with his church, Masonic Fraternity, Herrick Food Pantry and is an avid Cubs fan. Joyce is also involved with her church and the food pantry and enjoys flower gardening.

Their children are Teresa Shiels of Carlisle, PA and Jim Nancy of Montrose. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A family dinner was held at their home on Sunday, Oct. 12.

40th Wedding Anniversary

Pat and Carla Fonner, former Pana residents, now of Moweaqua, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 4 with their family.

Patrick Fonner and the former Carla Coleman were married on Oct. 4, 1974 in the First General Baptist Church in Pana.  Their attendants were Beverly Krotz and Carl Keller, along with their son, Mikie.

Carla is the daughter of the late Lorten and Mabel Coleman and Pat is the son of the late Bill and Nancy Fonner.  Carla is a homemaker and works part time as a hostess at the Moweaqua Retirement Center while Pat is a high lift operator at Mueller Company in Decatur for the past 37 years.

Their children are Mike Manion of Macon, Dana Shuster of Moweaqua, Chris (Derek) Stalets of Pana and Ryan Fonner of Moweaqua.  They are grandparents to Madison and Ciara Manion, Delaney Shuster and Savannah, Conner and Bre Stalets.

The couple enjoys antiquing and traveling.  They have a trip scheduled in May of 2015 to Ireland.  Pat enjoys the outdoor life of fishing, hunting and taking wildlife photos.  Carla enjoys flower gardening and decorating their 110 year old home.

25th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Brad Bagley of Assumption, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, in Memorial Presbyterian Church, 303 N. Locust, Assumption.

Mr. Bagley and the former  Bonnie Patient were married Aug. 26, 1989 in Central Christian Church, Decatur. Maid of honor was Barbie Patient Henderson and best man, Clay McCall.

Their parents are Brenda Gaviola of Crawfordsville, Ind., and the late Aaron Patient; Sue (Bill) Koons of Pana and the late Roger Bagley.

Brad owns and operates The Dent Commander Paintless Dent Removal in Assumption. He enjoys golfing, writing Christian music, playing guitar and singing. Bonnie is a school bus driver and lunch aide for Central A & M and enjoys crocheting.

Their children are Trevor McKayle Bagley, Devin Quinn Bagley, Keagan Alec Bagley, Seth Ian Bagley and Niah Sue Bagley, all of Assumption.Megan (Matt) Daugherty, Emily (Zane) Mays; 10 great-grandchildren, Lily Daugherty, Kate Daugherty, Aubrey Huff, Dylan Huff, Brogan Ade, Madi Embrey, Annslee Mays, Parker Mays, Brooke Fuller and Madison Fuller.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Jerry and Elsie Hall of Tower Hill will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, at the Pana Elks Lodge.

The Halls were married  July 25, 1964 at the Pana Christian Church by Pastor Jack Busby.  Their attendants were Jim Harbert of Pana and Joann Black of Herrick.  Jerry is the son of the late Clyde and Martha Hedrick Hall. He is retired after spending over 40 years working in local grocery stores including Eisner Foods, Big “D” Warehouse Foods, Johnston’s Supermarket and Niemann Foods.

Elsie is the daughter of the late Vern and Mary Weekly and V. Pauline “Peg” Enloe Ruess.  She was a stay-at-home mom but also spent time working in several factories including P.R. Mallory, GE, International Paper and Grigoleit Company.

The couple also owned and operated the Rosebud Cafe in 1976 and the Rackwagon Cafe in 1992-1993.

They are the parents of Steve Hall (Amy) of Oconee, Jolene Hall of Pana and Laura Cox of Assumption.  They are also the foster parents of Charles “Randy” Reed of Pana and the late Jerry Hutchinson of Jefferson City, MO.  Their grandchildren are Bradley Bennett, Halen Fleet, Michael Ettling, Chelsey Swisher Crow, Breanne Hall and Hadlie Wessel.

They were married July 8, 1964 in Rothenburg, Germany.
